Summary of RTR’s December Leadership Meeting

On Dec. 18th, the RTR leadership had a meeting. The topics we covered included:

  • How to handle Ombud duties: Marisol is stepping down. We are grateful for the time and energy she gave in shaping our welcoming and safe community. For the moment, the Head Organizer will manage the process and the leadership committee will be notified of any incidents and will serve in an advisory capacity.
  • Finances: Our expenses during this period have been limited to website subscriptions (Meetup and Obsidian Portal), and the purchase of a website theme. Our existing nest egg is enough to cover these expenses for the immediate future.
  • RTR’s Website: We are currently working on a redesign of the site, which will be launching soon. We also plan to seek guidance from the community on what they want from the website going forward.
  • A possible Player Profile Channel: We discussed creating a discord channel that would be a place for players to describe their gaming interests and current availability for play. This could then be a resource for coordinating home and online games.
  • Updates to Discord: We discuss adding a brief overview of our activities to the rtr-code-of-conduct channel (and maybe renaming it something like “welcome”), and adding user tags for gender and gaming interests. During the meeting we posted a question to the discord about our members
  • Vision: The New Guard SOP is ending after five seasons, and both of the locations where we met are closed or closing. 2020 has been rough for everybody and the level of ambitiousness of our SOPs has been hard to sustain. We discussed how to be more sustainable going forward. These efforts will include an emphasis on players driving their own character-development.
  • Exiting Organizer: Justin has stepped down from all RTR duties, including Workshops Organizer and Deputy SOP Organizer. We thank him for years of dedication to RTR’s vision and success. If you are interested in volunteering or discussing either role, please contact an Organizer.

We will be meeting again in January to discuss our progress on the current initiatives.
