Raleigh Tabletop RPGs (RTR) is a volunteer-driven organization staffed by a group of passionate gamers and roleplayers in the Raleigh area. The below document outlines our organizational structure and responsibilities.
Role Structure
Roles in Raleigh Tabletop Roleplaying tend to follow the following hierarchy:
- Organizer
- Coordinator
- Host
People can hold multiple titles at various levels of authority throughout RTR.
Organizer
As the highest tier of RTR leadership, Organizers are responsible for the broadest divisions of the organization’s mission and goals. An Organizer may oversee all workshops or all special events, for example. It is not the goal of an Organizer to plan, execute, and participate in every event that occurs under their purview, but instead to provide guidance and oversight for these things, working with a team that might include one or more Coordinators and/or Hosts. Additionally, the Organizers work as a group to establish long-term strategies and goals for RTR as a whole, striving to incorporate community feedback into each year’s plan of activities.
Coordinator
Coordinators are responsible for the execution of subsets of an Organizer’s responsibilities. For example, the Dark Carnival Coordinator is responsible for the Dark Carnival event, under the supervision of the Special Events Organizer. Coordinators are responsible for raising the volunteer staff to put on RTR Events and for helping coordinate matters such as space for their events and RSVPs from RTR members.
Within the Semi Organized Play section of RTR, Coordinators are called Showrunners.
Host
Hosts are the direct face of RTR. These are the people running workshops, games, or any other official RTR event. Hosts get their direction from their Coordinator, often helping out on matters like RSVPs in addition to the direct work of running actual participant-facing activities.
